Domaine de Marie also known as Mai Anh church is a Catholic convent in Dalat city. It is one of the three biggest churches in the flower city. And it was voted as one of the top 20 tourist attractions in Dalat in 2019.

Introducing Domaine de Marie

Domaine de Marie is also known as Mai Anh Church (because it is located on a hill with many cherry blossoms – Mai Anh hill) is a cluster of architectural works including the chapel and two rows of Filles de la charité de saint Vincent de Paule monasteries – a long-standing religious congregation in Vietnam since 1928.

The church is designed and built as the 17th century European style on an area of ​​up to 12 hectares, along with a unique architecture than any other churches in Dalat because it was built with an adhesive of lime, molasses, walls built of split rock to the window sill and some other additives.

Visiting Domaine de Maria

A very special feature of Domaine de Marie church is that there is no bell tower , and the church’s lighting system is made of stained glass frames. In addition, visitors can see a statue of Miraculous Medal with 3m height, weighs 1 ton standing on the globe, depicted in the shape of a Vietnamese woman, designed by French architect Jonchere.

The statue is a gift from the wife of the French Governor-General Decoux. Visiting the territory of Notre Dame in Dalat, it shows the bond between Mrs. Decoux and this place. Enter the campus of Domaine De Maria church, you will see many kinds of Dalat flowers , especially the Hai Tien flowers.

Opening hours

Domaine de Marie is always opened for visitors so you can come here at any moments. But I highly suggest you visit the church in broad daylight.

Mass times

If you want to come here to participate in the mass, you can join at:

• On normal days, the mass starts at 7:15
• On weekends, it’s 6 o’clock
